About us

Shree Radhe Gau Sewa Dham – A Sanctuary of Love and Compassion for Cows

Shree Radhe Gau Sewa Dham is a shelter of compassion and devotion, located in the heart of Barnala, Punjab, India. Dedicated to serving injured and sick cows, our mission is rooted in the ancient Indian tradition of Gau Sewa—the selfless service of cows. This noble cause was started in 2013 by a group of passionate Yuva (youth) volunteers, and in 2017, it was officially registered as the Yuva Gau Sewak Welfare Society, Barnala. Since then, we have been tirelessly working to rescue, treat, and rehabilitate cows in need, ensuring they receive the love and care they deserve.

Our Journey: From Compassion to Action

The journey of Shree Radhe Gau Sewa Dham began when a few compassionate young volunteers in Barnala witnessed the plight of injured, sick, and abandoned cows on the streets. Many cows suffered due to road accidents, lack of medical care, and starvation. Inspired by the teachings of Sanatan Dharma, they took it upon themselves to rescue and protect these sacred beings.

From feeding stray cows to arranging medical treatment for the injured, our dedication soon grew into a full-fledged movement. In 2017, the Yuva Gau Sewak Welfare Society was officially registered, giving the initiative a structured platform to expand its reach and impact.

Our Mission: Sewa with Devotion

At Shree Radhe Gau Sewa Dham, we believe that serving cows is equivalent to serving God. Our mission is to:

  • Provide immediate medical aid to sick and injured cows.

  • Offer shelter, food, and lifelong care to rescued cows.

  • Rescue cows from accidents, abuse, and abandonment.

  • Promote awareness about cow protection and ethical treatment.

  • Inspire youth to participate in Gau Sewa and create a compassionate society.

We are committed to ensuring that no cow suffers due to neglect, hunger, or illness.

Our Services: Dedicated to Gau Mata

Over the years, Shree Radhe Gau Sewa Dham has built a structured approach to cow protection through various services, including:

  1. Rescue Operations

We conduct timely rescues of cows injured in road accidents or abandoned due to illness or old age.

  1. Medical Treatment & Rehabilitation

Our dedicated team of veterinarians and caretakers provide:

  • Long-term treatment for chronic illnesses

  • Post-accident rehabilitation for disabled cows

  • Care for pregnant cows & newborn calves

  • First aid & emergency medical care

  1. Nutrition & Feeding Program

Proper nutrition is vital for recovery and well-being. We ensure:

  • Special diet for weak and sick cows

  • Feeding stray cows in Barnala city

  • Fresh fodder and clean drinking water daily

  1. Lifetime Shelter & Care

Some rescued cows are too weak or disabled to return to the streets. We provide them with a safe, loving home where they can live peacefully for the rest of their lives.

  1. Awareness & Community Involvement

We actively engage with the community to spread awareness about cow protection, encouraging people to adopt and care for cows instead of abandoning them.

Why Gau Sewa? The Divine Connection

In Indian culture, the cow is not just an animal; she is revered as a mother—a giver of life, nourishment, and spiritual blessings. Protecting cows is deeply ingrained in our Sanatan Dharma and is considered one of the highest forms of service i.e. Punya.

At Shree Radhe Gau Sewa Dham, we see every rescued cow as a blessing and an opportunity to serve Gau Mata with devotion and gratitude.
